Lewiston Fire Department Announces Retirement of Engineer Nick Stevens

LEWISTON – At 8:00 a.m. Saturday, January 20th, Engineer Nick Stevens removed his jacket and helmet from Engine 71 for the last time.

Stevens began his service with the Lewiston Fire Department on May 16, 1994. Stevens has served his community as a firefighter, and an advanced EMT, and has been instrumental in teaching new firefighters for decades.

In addition to his service as a firefighter, Stevens leaves a legacy of service beyond his days on duty. Stevens was an instructor during fire academies, a founding member of the Lewiston Firefighters Pipes and Drums Honor Guard, a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, and a youth baseball umpire.

In retirement, Nick and his wife Anna plan to remain in Lewiston while Nick continues to serve the community and pursue his passion for baseball umpiring as an NCAA Division I umpire.
