(Lewiston, ID) Kevin Brotherton, 39, was placed under arrest for Burglary and subsequently booked into the Nez Perce County Adult Detention Center on December 12, 2024 after reportedly turning himself in to authorities.
On December 6th 2024, units were dispatched to a report of an alleged burglary on the 900 block of Peer Lane in Culdesac, ID. The homeowner called 911 after reportedly witnessing a familiar man enter their home via security cameras. The witness then reportedly saw the man exit the home hiding something under his coat.
The following day, authorities reportedly got a call from the homeowner stating that the man was staying at the Quality Inn in Lewiston. Upon further investigation, law enforcement spoke with a woman close to the suspect and discovered that he allegedly had plans to leave town. A search was conducted of the hotel room, but no subsequent evidence was found.
Five days after the initial investigation, Brotherton reportedly called the Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office and stated that he knew they were looking for him, and that he would like to come in to talk. According to court documents, Brotherton admitted to stealing a safe from the victims home containing $1,905 as well as numerous personal items and documents.
Brotherton’s bond has been set at $20,000, and his preliminary hearing is to be held December 23, 2024.
