Lewiston Public Works to Improve Traffic Flow and Safety At 10th Street and Burrell Avenue

Lewiston, Idaho – Starting Wednesday, March 15, 2023, drivers should plan for street closures and
detours while work is being performed at the intersection of 10th Street and Burrell
Avenue. A mini-roundabout will be constructed at this intersection to help improve traffic
flow and safety.

“This project has been identified as a top priority in the Transportation Capital
Improvement Plan for several years now, and with continued growth in the Orchards, it
will only get more congested at that intersection,” Public Works Director Dustin Johnson
said. “These improvements will help keep traffic moving and will be a safer alternative
for pedestrians.”

Hours of operation for this project will generally be between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm
Monday through Friday until the project is anticipated to be complete in early May.
This project is locally funded, it does not have grant funding.

The City of Lewiston has contracted with Western Construction of Lewiston, Inc. for the
construction of this project.
