Lewiston’s Clearwater Memorial Bridge to Receive Additional Upgrades

(Lewiston, ID) The Idaho Department of Transportation has issued a construction update for the Clearwater Memorial Bridge project. Crews are on-site for concrete finishing, painting, and other punch list work. About half of the pedestrian railing has been revisited and tightened with additional hardware. The railing is secure and safe. The work to finish the alignment of the pedestrian rail may not be completed until the end of February. Both sides are open to pedestrian traffic during this work.
A winter shutdown will start in a few weeks with remaining work to resume in the spring pending favorable weather conditions. The treatment to seal the deck will be applied in May. The treatment will help smooth the deck and lanes will also be painted to improve visibility at night.
Impacts to traffic should be short-lived. When the overlay is applied, ITD will shut down half of the bridge and only have one lane in each direction. That work is anticipated to take two weeks to complete.
