A letter from The Lolo Plan Revision Team Leader:
I’m pleased to confirm that the Notice of Intent (NOI) to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement has been published in the Federal Register. You can view the NOI at: Federal Register: Revision of the Land Management Plan for the Lolo National Forest.
The legal notice will appear in the Missoulian tomorrow, February 1st. This will kick off the 60-day scoping comment period which will end April 1, 2024. The proposed action documents and the preliminary need to change are on the Lolo Revision Web Hub along with several handouts to orient you to the proposed action. The online commenting form will be enabled tomorrow. Your comments on the proposed action will help us identify issues, which in turn will be used to develop alternatives to be analyzed in the draft EIS.
You’ll also notice that our Web Hub has undergone a makeover! The new format should improve the user experience. All the information that you could previously access is still there, and a website FAQ is available to help you navigate.
