On October 7, 2023, at approximately 11:35 PM, Idaho County Dispatch received a call regarding a male subject who was trying to break into a store on Main Street in Kooskia, Idaho.
Idaho County Deputies responded, and while searching for the individual, they witnessed him breaking city light fixtures. They made contact with the male subject, and he was subsequently arrested on misdemeanor charges.
While at the Idaho County Jail, he was asked if he had any illegal substances on his person. He stated no. While going through the booking process, the detention deputy located contraband on his person.
Zane Madruga, age 29, of Lewiston, Idaho was arrested for misdemeanor malicious injury to property and misdemeanor criminal trespass. Once at the jail, he was charged with felony introduction of a controlled substance into a correctional facility.
