MEDIA ADVISORY: Governor Brad Little to receive Charter School Champion Award Tuesday

November 9, 2024

Boise, Idaho – Governor Brad Little will accept the Charter School Champion Award from the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools on Tuesday in Boise.

Gov. Little championed House Bill 422 earlier this year, the Accelerating Public Charter Schools Act. The bill cuts red tape around supporting charter schools in Idaho through best practices, development, and educational and operational assistance. It gives more flexibility for the high performing charters of Idaho and more support to charters that are struggling and need more guidance.

Members of the media should confirm their attendance with Joan Varsek at Joan.Varsek@gov.idaho.gov. This event is not open to the public.

WHEN: Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 9 a.m.

WHERE: Cardinal Academy, 9492 W Emerald St., Boise, ID 83704

WHO: Gov. Little, Bluum CEO Terry Ryan, Charlie Bufalino with the National Alliance of Public Charter Schools, Cardinal Executive Director Jamie Garn, students and parents
