Men’s Cross Country Signs Three Treasure Valley Natives

Alisha Alexander | Sports Information Director

Lewiston, Idaho – (Release from Lewis-Clark State College Athletics) Mike Collins announced the addition of three Idaho natives to the 2024 LC State Men’s Cross Country roster on Thursday. Keith Uitdeweilligen, Ray Herrera and Liam Page will join the Warriors in the fall.

Uitdeweilligen comes to LC from Rocky Mountain High School in Meridian. He earned All-State status twice, doing so in 2021 and 2022. The senior is also a member of the school’s marching band.

“Keith comes from one of the best high school programs in the country with some of the best coaches,” Collins said.” His high school team was ranked in the top 10 in the nation this year, so he understands the work and the pressure to compete at such a high level and we have no doubt he will bring that with him as we make a run for a national title of our own this fall.”

Herrera, from Boise, is a senior at Capital High School. He helped the team advance to the State meet in 2022.

“Ray’s high school coach has been one of my best friends for almost 30 years when we competed together in a triathlon in the late 1990s, so to say I trust and believe him when he tells me that Ray is a diamond in the rough is an understatement,” Collins said. “Ray has only been running distance for a little over a year after being a sprinter, so we think he has some amazing things ahead of him with us here.”

Page prepped at Owyhee High School in Meridian where he was voted the team’s MVP and Most Improved runner.

“Liam has been running for one of the new high schools in the Meridian district, so the challenges of new coaches and expectations has allowed him to mature,” Collins said. “Competing in arguably the toughest region in the state has helped to develop him into a tough runner and we are excited to see how he develops with the longer collegiate races.”
