New Director of Community Development in Lewiston

LEWISTON – The City of Lewiston is excited to announce the selection of
Shannon Grow as the new Director of Community Development. This announcement comes after Laura VonTersch, who served 18 years in the Director role, retired on November 4, 2022.

“Laura contributed positively to the growth of the City of Lewiston during her tenure and I wish her continued success in her future endeavors,” Mayor Dan Johnson said. “Shannon brings management experience and a broad skill set to Community Development that will benefit several programs at the City of Lewiston.”

Shannon Grow served as the Director of the Lewis Clark Valley Metropolitan Planning Organization for the last six years. Before that, she worked at the City of
Lewiston for 16 years spending most of her employment in the Community Development Department. She has extensive experience managing the city’s transit system and working with local, state, and regional agencies on transportation program planning, development, and implementation. Grow also has substantial experience in grant administration and business development.

She obtained a Master’s in Public Administration from Villanova University,
alongside a Certificate in City Management. Outside of her professional experience, Grow has been involved with many nonprofit and volunteer organizations in the Lewis-Clark Valley. This includes sitting as the current President-Elect for the Lewiston Rotary Club; serving on the Board of Directors for the Lewiston Civic Theatre and the Asotin County Library Board of Trustees; serving as a member of the 100 Women Who Care on the Confluence, and participating in the first class of the Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership LC Valley program.

Please join us in welcoming Ms. Grow!
