LEWISTON – The Lewiston Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at 2319 7th Street at 10:44 a.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2023. First-arriving crews found smoke coming from the eaves of the home. The caller had arrived home to find smoke coming from the residence. The caller stated no one was inside and the dog in the home had been removed.
Crews entered the structure and attacked the seat of the fire on the first floor and the attic area. Vertical ventilation was used to remove smoke and heat from the attic. The fire was knocked down quickly and crews remained on scene for overhaul operations for approximately one hour.
The department responded with three structural engines, three ambulances, three chief officers, and one fire investigator for a total of 19 personnel. Clarkston Fire Department responded with one structural engine and three personnel as part of the Valley Auto Aid Agreement.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage estimates to the home are approximately $80,000 to the structure and $40,000 in contents. No firefighter or civilian injuries were reported.
