North Idaho Woman Dies in Friday Night Crash on US95

(Coeur d’Alene, ID) Idaho State Police is investigating a two-vehicle fatality crash that occurred December 27th, 2024, at approximately 7:27 p.m. on northbound on US95 at Parks Road, just south of Athol in Kootenai County.

According to police, a 2012 Toyota Tacoma, driven by a 23-year-old male from Trego, MT, was traveling northbound on US95 at Parks Road. A 2013 Nissan Pathfinder, occupied by a 75-year-old male driver and a 92-year-old female passenger, both from Coeur d’Alene, was pulling out of Parks Road to travel southbound and was struck by the Toyota.

The female passenger in the Nissan was pronounced deceased at the scene. Both males were transported to a local hospital via ground ambulance where they are in stable condition.

Police say alcohol and speed are not believed to be factors in this crash. All occupants were wearing their seatbelts.  The Idaho State Police continues to investigate the crash.
