PULLMAN – Carter Gordon ran the second best 800m in the NAIA this season and Sydnie Zywina bested the field of NCAA Division I athletes to move up the rankings in the triple jump to highlight LC State Track and Field at the Cougar Classic.

In total, the Warriors hit seven national marks on the campus of Washington State.

“Definitely an up-and-down day for us today.” Head Coach Mike Collins said. “Some really nice performances by both Sydnie and TJ (Johnson) in the triple jump. We saw some good sprinting with Jed (Barnaby) as well as Carter in the 800m. Some other kids, I think, had what we normally consider average. We’ve got some real work in front of us. A nice week of training with a weekend off from competing and then to the University of Oregon where we will have high expectations. Still had a lot of season bests and some personal records, as well as a couple of new national-qualifying marks, so still a good day.”
