Spokane Police Investigating Two Evening Robberies in Downtown Area

Spokane, Wash – (Release from Spokane Police Department) On December 7, 2022, between 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., Spokane Police Department (SPD) responded to two armed robberies of pedestrians in the downtown area. The first occurred in Riverfront Park near the Howard St foot bridge. A pedestrian was approached by a group of individuals, one of which was reportedly armed with a handgun, and robbed of personal items.

About thirty minutes later, a second victim was walking in the 800 block of W Main Ave when they were approached by two individuals. A suspect brandished a knife and demanded the victim’s belongings. During the incident the suspect swung the knife at the victim causing a non-life-threatening injury which was treated at the scene by medics.
