Spokane Woman Arrested After Stealing Cash From Multiple Elderly Residents at Royal Plaza Assisted Living in Lewiston

January 14, 2025

(Lewiston, ID) On January 10, 2025, Lessie Webb, age 49, was taken into custody by the Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office.

According to court documents, a Lewiston Police officer was dispatched to the assisted living section of Royal Plaza in Lewiston on March 5, 2024, regarding a theft.  Two residents claimed that a female had allegedly entered their rooms and stolen money from them.

The theft was captured on the video surveillance system at the facility. Current employees identified the suspect as Lessie Webb, a previous employee who had allegedly been terminated due to an issue with her background check. One of the victims went on to tell the officer that Webb had allegedly stood at her door knocking and ringing the doorbell for numerous minutes before entering the room. Webb then reportedly stole $20 from the storage compartment of the victim’s walker.  The elderly patient then allegedly confronted Webb about the theft, resulting in Webb returning the money to the victim.

Immediately following the attempted theft, Webb was seen on camera heading to the second floor to reportedly enter another resident’s room.  Webb then posed as a Norco employee to gain access to the resident’s room. She then allegedly stole $79 in cash from the resident, who later noticed the money missing from their sock drawer.

Less than a week later from the initial theft, Officers spoke with two more residents in the building. The residents reportedly told the officer about a theft that had allegedly occurred prior to the theft on March 5. Both described a similar suspect, as well as the same behavior pattern of going from the first floor to the second floor, again reportedly posing as a Norco employee.

Officers reportedly reached out to Webb regarding the incident, at which time she said that she had allegedly gone back into the facility to visit a few patients that she had formed friendships with.  Webb was unable to remember the names of a single patient, and reportedly denied hurting them or stealing money from them.

Due to the substantial video evidence, Webb was brought into custody and subsequently booked into the Nez Perce County Adult Detention Center on four counts of Felony Burglary. Her bond has been set at $50,000.
