Traffic Stop Nets Large Quantity of Methamphetamine, Marijuana and Paraphernalia

Post Falls, Idaho- In the early hours of 02/20/2024, a Kootenai County Sheriff’s Deputy initiated a traffic stop in the area of Interstate 90 and Pleasant View Road. During the course of the traffic stop a Post Falls Police K9 arrived and completed an exterior sniff of the vehicle.

Upon the subsequent search of the vehicle, over 150 grams of methamphetamine was located as well as marijuana and multiple pieces of paraphernalia.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Thomas R. Nicholas, 26-year-old male from Spokane Valley, Washington. The passenger of the vehicle was identified as Kane M. Heaton, a 28-year-old male from Otis Orchards, Washington.

Nicholas was booked into the Kootenai County Jail for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

Heaton was booked into the Kootenai County Jail for trafficking methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
