U of I Seeking Input for New Long Range Campus Development Plan

MOSCOW, Idaho — April 5, 2024 — Over the next 14 months, University of Idaho will engage in a planning effort to update the Long Range Campus Development Plan for the Moscow campus. The kickoff events will occur Monday and Tuesday, April 8-9, with opportunities for all stakeholders to participate.

U of I is asking for feedback to hear what’s working, re-examine issues and prioritize goals for the built environment. This is an opportunity for the entire Vandal community to come together and explore the future growth and development of campus. The university will look at buildings, roads, parking, walkways, open spaces and other physical elements to create an aligned vision and framework for preserving and developing the campus for future generations.

Opportunities to get involved include:

  • Taking the MapMyCampus Survey. Ten participants will win a $50 VandalStore gift card.
  • Join an in-person Town Hall at 4 p.m. Monday, April 8, in the Bruce M. Pitman Center Vandal Ballroom.
  • Join a virtual Town Hall at 6 p.m. Monday, April 8, online.
  • Visit pop-up information booths from 11:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 8, and 9:15-11:15 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, at the ISUB Plaza, Wallace Dining Hall and along Sixth Street by the Theophilus Tower Lawn.

The university last engaged in a comprehensive planning effort in the mid-1990s through a process known at the time as “Vision 2020.” The result of that effort is our current plan, which has guided the development of the university for the last 30 years. As the year 2020 has come and gone, it is time for a robust planning effort that aims to take the university through the next 25 years to 2050 and beyond.
