January 12, 2024 (Moscow, Idaho) — The Palouse region is currently experiencing colder-than-normal winter weather conditions and potentially dangerous wind chills over the next several days. The City of Moscow, the University of Idaho, and Latah County have partnered with the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Palouse and the American Red Cross. For community members in need of warm shelter during the evening hours, the Unitarian Universalist Church has graciously opened its doors to support the community’s needs. The Unitarian Universalist Church is located at 420 East Second Street and will be open nightly from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. beginning on Friday, January 12, and ending at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 17.

For community members in need of warm shelter during the day, the City of Moscow Hamilton Indoor Recreation Center (HIRC) multi-purpose room will open to the public during the following hours of operation:
Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Saturday: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Sunday: 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Monday: 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
