Valley Karate School’s Tournament Club Brings 24 Medals Back to Lewiston

LEWISTON – Valley Karate School’s Tournament Club had 6 competitors travel to Boise on Saturday, to compete in the Treasure Valley Karate Invitational hosted by Treasure Valley Booster Club and Sensei Vanesa Perkins of Southern Idaho.

They brought home a total of 24 medals and a GRAND Champion Trophy to Lewiston this weekend:

JR. GRAND CHAMPION-KATA

13 GOLD MEDALS
8 SILVER MEDALS
3 BRONZE MEDALS


The Valley Karate School Tournament Club members that competed were:

Danika Olsen-Bennett: 11-13 yr old Brown Belt Division, female; Jr. Grand Champion Kata, 1st Kata, 1st Weapons Kata, 1st Blocker sparring, 2nd Sparring, 3rd Team Sparring

Devon Munnigh: 11-12 yr old Black Belt Division, male; 1st in Sparring, 1st in Team Sparring, 2nd in Weapons, 2nd in Kata

Corbin Clark-11-13 yr old Intermediate Division, male; 1st in Kata, 1st in Blocker Sparring, 2nd In Sparring, 2nd in Team Sparring, 3rd in Weapons Kata

Ariyana Clark: 9-10 yr old Intermediate Division, female; 1st in Weapons Kata, 1st in Blocker Sparring, 1st Flag Sparring, 2nd in Kata, 3rd in Sparring

Zayden Clark: 5-6 yr old Beginner Division; 1st in Blocker Sparring, 1st in Flag Sparring

Sensei Steven Smith: Adult Black Belt Division; 1st Kata, 2nd Weapons Kata, 2nd Sparring
