KANSAS CITY, Mo. – With the longest active winning streak in the NAIA (12 games), including a sweep of then-No. 2 LSU Shreveport (La.), the Lewis-Clark State Baseball team moved up four spots to No. 5 in the latest edition of the NAIA Top 25. The Warriors close out the regular season this weekend with a series at home against Bushnell.
LC State has swept three straight four-game series with victories over College of Idaho, LSUS and UBC and are two wins away from clinching the Cascade Conference regular season title outright.
The Warriors lead the CCC in slugging (.496) and home runs (54). On the mound, the Warriors are the top team in ERA (4.27), wins (31) and batters struck out looking (121). Jack Sheward ranks at the top in on-base percentage (.491), Carter Booth leads CCC and is third in the NAIA in doubles (21) and Dominic Signorelli is at the top of the CCC in home runs (14) and walks (34). Shane Spencer leads the conference in opposing batting average (.215).
UBC and Oregon Tech are both receiving votes in the poll.
