Warrior Baseball Ranked No. 7 in First Poll of the Season

3/13/2024 | Alisha Alexander | Assistant Athletic Director-Sports Information
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Despite a streaky start to the season, LC State Baseball remained in the top 10 of the NAIA with a No. 7 ranking. The Warriors hold a 10-6 record after a strong start in Florida and a sweep of UBC. Cascade Conference play opens this weekend at Corban.

LC State began the 2024 season with wins over then-No. 6 Tennessee Wesleyan and then-No. 7 Bellevue (Neb.), as well as a victory over St. Thomas (Fla.) before falling to No. 1 Southeastern (Fla.). Weather derailed the schedule for nearly three weeks before the Warriors were able to take the field again.

After a split with College of Idaho, LC State swept No. 23 UBC at home. Despite a rocky series with Bushnell, the Warriors lead the Cascade Conference in slugging percentage (.490) and opponent batting average (.243). Dominic Signorelli is tied for the CCC lead in home runs (8) and Drake George is second in ERA (2.49).

UBC joined the top 25 at No. 23 and Oregon Tech is receiving votes.

LC State begins its CCC schedule this weekend with a pair of doubleheader at Corban on Friday and Saturday.
