Warrior Cross Country Stays Locked in NAIA Top 25 Ahead of Home Meet

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Despite a win in Indiana, the LC State Men’s Cross Country team fell two spots to No. 11 in the latest NAIA poll, released on Thursday.

The Warrior women remained No. 21 to keep both Lewis-Clark State programs in the top 25. The Warrior men dominated at the Taylor Invitational three weeks ago with six runners in the top 10. Carter Gordon led the team with a third-place finish followed by Brycen Brown, Griffen Parsells and Brycen Kempton in fourth through sixth, respectively. Kobe Wessels crossed the line eighth and Connor Turpin wrapped up the top 10. 
The LC State women finished second at the meet behind a perfect score from No. 2 Taylor (Ind.). Brooklyn Shell led the Warriors in the race with a sixth-place finish, and Geraldin Correa raced her way into the top 10 as well.
On the men’s side, College of Idaho made a jump to No. 9, while Eastern Oregon climbed one spot to No. 5. Oregon Tech moved up to No. 18, and Northwest is the final Cascade Conference team receiving votes. For the women, C of I remained No. 6 and Southern Oregon stayed at No. 10. The Warriors host the LC State Invitational on Saturday at the LC State Cross Country Trail in the Lewiston Orchards.
