Warrior Cross Country/Track and Field Ranked Among NAIA’s Best

NEW ORLEANS – Both Lewis-Clark State Cross Country/Track and Field programs finished in the top 20 of the USTFCCCA Program of the Year standings, with the women in 12th and men in 16th in the NAIA.

In order to be eligible, teams must qualify for the NAIA cross country, indoor track and field and outdoor track and field championships. Scoring is based on the team’s finish at each NAIA championship with the lowest total score for all three championships combined determining the award winner.

The Warrior women were consistent throughout the year with a 20th-place finish in cross country, 19th-place mark in indoor and 18th-place finish in outdoor. The point total tallied up to 60.5, second in the Cascade Conference behind College of Idaho. Huntington (Ind.) took the top spot.

On the men’s side, LC State totaled 105.5 points after finishing 19th in cross country, 46th in indoor and 37th in outdoor. The Warriors were the second-highest ranked team in the CCC behind Eastern Oregon. Dordt (Iowa) took the top spot after finishing in the top five at all three championships.
