(York, NE), In its first competition under coach Sydnee Soderberg, Lewis-Clark State Dance made its mark with the best score in program history. The Warriors earned a score of 76.1 that bested the previous program-record mark by 20 points. LC State placed eighth out of 17 schools at the York University Crown Classic.
“We are so incredibly proud of our Warriors,” Soderberg said. “There were many happy tears shed. We performed a clean and exciting routine, and we can’t wait for our next competition.”
The Warriors’ highest marks came in performance impression as well as uniformity, one of the areas the team made key improvements on in the offseason. LC State also excelled in the choreography category with its combination of pom, jazz and hip hop.
The group was commended on its team leap, a highlight of the routine, and choreography that highlighted the strength of each dancer.
