Warrior Men Take Two Against Whitman

LEWISTON – LC State Men’s Tennis took both of its matches Saturday against NCAA Division III Whitman College. The two wins improved the Warrior season record to 6-6.
 
MATCH ONE: (RV) LC State def. Whitman 7-0
LC secured the doubles point taking by two out of the three matches. Dane Felker and Itaru Kikuchi teamed up to win No. 2 doubles over Lucas Huang and Aidan Schutter by a score of 6-2. Austin Swing and Daniel Tevez took home the No. 3 doubles win over Artem Manov and Charles Rush 7-5.
 
In singles, the Warriors did not drop a set in sweeping the six matches.
 
Felker defeated Diego Guzman in No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-2. Declan Townsend was victorious in No. 2 singles over Lucas Huang 6-1, 6-4.
 
Cade Edwards had the most dominant victory of the day with a 6-1, 6-0 win in No. 3 singles while Daniel Tevez was pushed to the limit in a 7-5, 7-6 (5) win in No. 6 singles.

Just as in the first match, LC was able to take two of three doubles matches to secure the point. Maksim Matyrni and Swing won in No. 1 doubles whileThomas Schaap and Andy Wu took home the win in No. 2 doubles.
 
Matyrnyi played in the match of the night, edging out Alejandro Raffo 5-7, 7-5, 10-6 in No. 1 singles. Schaap was also pushed to three sets in No. 4 singles before topping Bernardo Savitt 6-2, 4-6, 6-2.
 
Malte Sommer picked up a win in No. 2 singles against Luca Viarengo 6-3, 6-2.
