Wawawai Landing boat dock is inaccessible from land until further notice

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Walla Walla District

Clarkston, Wash. – The Lower Granite Natural Resource Management Office has removed the gangway to the boat dock at Wawawai Landing to perform repairs.

A recent inspection of the Wawawai Landing recreation area revealed the gangway needed repairs in order to maintain visitor and staff safety. The boat ramp will remain open while repairs are performed, but the dock will be inaccessible from land until further notice.

Gangways are used to connect a dock to the shoreline. They provide a walkway over longer distances to allow easier access to a dock.

Wawawai Landing is located 25 miles west of Clarkston, Washington on Highway 193/Wawawai River Road. Boat launching facilities at Blyton Landing and Nisqually John Landing are still open. For more information, please contact the Lower Granite Natural Resource Management Office by calling 509-751-0240 or sending at email to clarkstonnaturalresources@usace.army.mil.
