KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Warrior Women’s Cross Country maintained a spot in the NAIA’s top 20, announced by the national office on Thursday. LC State fell to No. 19 in the latest edition of the top 25 rating.
The Warrior women have been consistent throughout the season, led mostly by senior Brooklyn Shell. Shell led LC to a fourth-place finish at the WSU Invitational, while Chloe Overberg took the reigns and was the team’s top finisher at the Louisville Classic on Saturday. The Warriors placed 25th in the field of more than 300 runners, with Overberg in 62nd.
Cascade Conference rival College of Idaho held on to its No. 3 position in the rankings and Southern Oregon climbed to No. 7. Eastern Oregon and Oregon Tech are receiving votes.
The Warriors host the LC State Invitational on Oct. 14 for the final meet of the regular season. The teams will compete in the Lewiston Orchards before turning the focus to the Cascade Conference Cross Country Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, on Nov. 3 in Caldwell.
