RICHLAND – At 5:26 this morning Washington State Patrol responded to a head-on collision on Interstate 82, one mile east of Richland.
According to a press memo released by WSP, a gray 2019 Ford F250 driven by 37-year-old Roberto Ramirez of Mesa, WA was driving eastbound in the westbound lane, when he struck a white 2006 Volvo driven by 56-year-old Emil Karimov of Bloomfield, CO. Karimov was headed westbound at the time of the collision.
Both drivers were transported to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries. Ramirez was wearing a seatbelt when he collided with Karimov, however, it is unknown if Karimov was doing the same.
Charges have not been filed, pending WSP’s investigation. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor.
