(Pullman, WA) A 19 year old Pullman man has been arrested on several felonies for allegedly raping a woman repeatedly inside her home.
Cavan McCall was arrested Sunday night at his home on four counts of 2nd degree rape and one count of felony strangulation. The investigation began on Sunday afternoon when Pullman Police were called to Pullman Regional Hospital for a rape victim.
The woman told officers that she and McCall are acquaintances. She invited McCall to her home during the early morning hours of December 29th to talk because he seemed “really stressed out.” McCall allegedly cornered the victim, grabbed her and violently raped her repeatedly. She told police that McCall bit her and bruised her and strangled her and she believed that he was going to kill her. Court documents show that the woman told McCall no several times and tried to fight him off.
The woman feared for her safety after the attack and told police that she continued to speak with McCall because she was afraid of what he might do if she did not placate him. McCall reportedly threatened to kidnap the woman over the next few days before she reported the assault.
Pullman Police Officers note in court documents that McCall is charged in another rape case with similar allegations. McCall refused to speak with officers. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Whitman County Superior Court on Friday. McCall is being held on a half a million dollars bond.
