LC State Men’s Golf Tabbed GCAA’s 2022 Mark Laesch Award Winner

LAS VEGAS – Lewis-Clark State Men’s Golf was honored by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Tuesday with the 2022 Mark Laesch Award. Teams in each division (NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA) were recognized based on improvement in adjusted stroke average per round from the 2020-21 to 2021-22 seasons.
 
LC State shaved 12.58 strokes off is average between 2020-21 and 2021-22 as part of a strong campaign. The Warriors the season finished ranked No. 13 with the sixth-best scoring average in the NAIA. LC State just missed an at-large berth to nationals but sent a representative as an individual. The Warriors finished second in the Cascade Conference standings in head-to-head matchups and finished atop the conference in scoring average at CCC events (292.7).
 
LC State landed four golfers on the all-conference team. Along with Co-Golfer of the Year Kristof PankeDevon CarusoCarlos Davila and Jorgen Lie Viken finished in the top eight in conference scoring.
