Walmart will offer free health screenings to Idahoans in its store pharmacies on Saturday, Jan. 14, according to a news release.
The Wellness Day event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and includes:
- Free health screenings, including glucose (blood sugar), cholesterol, blood pressure and body mass index (BMI) tests
- Free vision screenings, at stores with a vision center
- Immunizations that are covered by most health insurance plans, including flu, measles, mumps, pneumonia, tetanus, HPV, rubella, chicken pox, shingles, whooping cough (TDAP), hepatitis A and B and COVID-19
- Wellness resources and the opportunity to speak with a pharmacist
“A fresh, new year presents a great opportunity to really check in on our health as families, and as communities,” Kevin Host, Walmart’s senior vice president of pharmacy, said in the release. “These free screenings and affordable immunizations provide not only valuable insight but also valuable protection against illnesses that become common during the winter season.”
Since 2014, Walmart pharmacies have provided more than five million free health screenings for customers through the annual wellness event, the release said.
