KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Warrior women held their No.10 ranking in the final poll of the 2022-23 season, released by the NAIA on Wednesday. LC State opens the Cascade Conference Women’s Basketball Championship, presented by U.S. Bank, on Wednesday in the quarterfinal round. The LC Warriors will host the Corban Warriors at 5:30 p.m.
The conference’s automatic bid and No. 2 seed into the national tournament went to LC State after a coin flip between the regular-season co-champions. Eastern Oregon lost the toss and received the top seed in the CCC tournament.
LC State (26-2, 21-1) is second in the NAIA in field goal percentage defense (.326) and ninth in blocks per game (4.3). The Warriors are the top team in the conference in blocked shots per game (4.3), steals per game (11.4), turnover margin (6.29), assist/turnover ratio (1.3) and 3-pointers made per game (7.9). LC is second in scoring offense (74.2), scoring defense (56.8), scoring margin (17.4), field goal percentage (.419), 3-point field goal percentage (.328), rebounding (43.2) and assists per game (16.4).
Callie Stevens leads the team and is fourth in the CCC in scoring this season with 15.0 points per game. She is second in assists per game (3.8) Maddie Holm is fourth in the conference in rebounding (8.2). Ellie Sander leads the CCC in steals per game (2.3) and is fifth in field goal percentage (.496).
Hannah Broyles is ninth in the conference in scoring (13.1) and is second in 3-pointers made per game (2.9). Sara Muehlhausen is the top blocker in the CCC with 2.3 per game and is one away from tying her single-season career-high set last year. She has 64 so far this season. Adyson Clabby leads the conference and is fourth in the NAIA in assist/turnover ratio (4.4) and Stevens is second (2.6).
