On June 3, 2023, an Idaho County deputy was on patrol in the city of Kooskia, when he observed a traffic offense. The deputy stopped a red Chevrolet pickup on Main Street in Kooskia. K9 Millie was deployed and alerted on the vehicle.
Deputies searched the vehicle and located methamphetamine, psilocybin mushrooms, and two open bottles of whiskey.
Michael Massey, age 37, of Kooskia, Idaho was arrested for felony possession of
methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of psilocybin mushrooms, and misdemeanor driver with an open container of alcohol.
It was later discovered Massey had additional drug paraphernalia in his pocket while at the Idaho County Jail, which he was aware was a crime when he entered the jail. He was also charged with felony introducing contraband into a jail facility and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia.
