Concealed Weapon Permits (CWP) Issuance Changes

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office is excited to announce some changes that have been made to the issuance of Concealed Weapon Permits (CWP). CWP’s will no longer be issued out of the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) main office on Government Way, but instead, will be issued through both Driver’s License Offices located in Coeur d’Alene and Post Falls. You will now have two locations to choose from when applying for or renewing this permit. To apply for a CWP you will need to use the Qless App or KCSO website listed below to select the date, time, and type of permit for your appointment. Also listed on the website are instructions on how to apply, what documentation you will need, and a link to required forms. There are no “walk-in” appointments available for CWP applications, so it is imperative that you make an appointment.

If you don’t have access to a computer or smart phone with the Qless App, you can call any of the Driver’s License Offices or come in to schedule an appointment.
