WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – The Lewis-Clark State Women’s Tennis team earned a pair of singles wins on Thursday against No. 24 Cumberlands (Ky.). The Warrior women fell 5-2 to the Patriots to conclude the Kentucky portion of the spring break trip.
It took one hour and 45 minutes, but Rayana Shah outlasted Eva Cancarevic in No. 2 singles. After dropping the opening set, Shah battled back for a 5-7, 6-0, 6-3 win. Marina Perez only dropped two games in a 6-2, 6-0 win in No. 5 singles against Lucy Stojic.
Heidi Moyo played in a three-set No. 4 singles contest that took over two hours to complete. Moyo took the second set, but lost to Blanca Lopez 6-1, 4-6, 6-1.
Beatriz Lambru and Moyo teamed up to earn a No. 1 doubles victory against Luzy Stojic and Eva Cancarevic 6-3. Paige Noble Lucas and Maria Eduarda Santos da Silva fought hard in a No. 3 doubles 6-3 loss.
