Jennah Carpenter Voted CSC Academic All-American

July 9, 2024

(Lewiston, ID)  – Jennah Carpenter etched her name in the Lewis-Clark State Track and Field record book yet again, this time as the first Warrior field athlete to earn the prestigious title of CSC First-Team Academic All-American. The Lewiston native is the second female and fifth Warrior Cross Country/Track and Field athlete overall to earn the honor in program history.

Outstanding student-athletes are nominated for Academic All-District recognition by communications directors and must have a minimum 3.50 GPA and meet high athletic standards. The top student-athletes move on to the Academic All-America ballot, voted on by members of College Sports Communicators (CSC).

Carpenter completed her junior year with a 3.89 grade point average while studying Secondary Education Kinesiology and Middle School Match. She earned three All-American honors between indoor and outdoor track and field when she repeated with national honors in the pentathlon and indoor high jump before doing the same in the outdoor high jump. She was All-Cascade Conference in the 100m hurdles and long jump.

The track and field standout set the LC State record in the pentathlon (3,472 points) when she placed sixth at indoor nationals. She placed fifth in the high jump (1.71m) at the indoor championships and was sixth (1.71m) in the outdoor event. Carpenter set the Warrior record in the long jump (5.71m) and qualified for indoor and outdoor nationals in the event, placing in the top 15 in both.

Carpenter is a two-time CSC Academic All-District selection and first-time Academic All-America honoree. She joins College of Idaho’s Ellyse Tingelstad, the CSC Academic All-America Team Member of the Year, as the lone representatives from the Cascade Conference and west region.
