(Lewiston, ID) – Warrior Men’s Golf wrapped up its second tournament of the fall season on Tuesday at the OUAZ Fall Invitational. The two-day event, hosted by OUAZ (Ariz.) at Sterling Grove Golf and Country Club, concluded with LC State in 10th place.
“Not a good showing in the desert,” Head Coach Zach Anderson said. “Uncharacteristic mistakes and loads of mental errors. It is only the fall, so we have time to make adjustments. We will take the few positives from this week and get back to work quickly.”
Senior Alex Navarro led the Warriors in a tie for 28th after a round of 76 on Tuesday. Freshman Lucas Ortega, in his first collegiate tournament, placed 34th with a matching 76 in the final round. Navarro finished 11-over par and Ortega was 13-over for the tournament.
Kye Krall shot an 82 in his final 18 holes to place 43rd in the field with an 18-over, 234. Oscar Behle tied for 47th at 21-over and Luke West finished tied for 51st at 25-over.
No. 9 Marian (Ind.) golfer Augie Mann and Jonathan Larson from The Master’s (Calif.) tied at the top with a score of 4-under, 212 while Marian took home the team title at 6-over, 870.
UP NEXT
Both Warrior Golf teams will compete at the Thunderbird Invitational on Oct. 21-22. The tournament, hosted by British Columbia in Bremerton, Wash., is a Cascade Conference event and will count in the conference standings.
The Warrior women will be in action Oct. 7-8 at the Briarwood Shootout in Billings, Mont.
