The Idaho State Police is investigating a two-vehicle fatality crash which occurred November 29, 2024, at approximately 12:26 pm on eastbound State Highway 58 near milepost 1.5 in Kootenai County.
Preliminary investigation indicates a white 2000 Honda CR-V was westbound on State Highway 58, drove left of center, and collided head on into a blue 2011 Chrysler Town & Country which was traveling eastbound on State Highway 58.
The Honda was driven by a 31-year-old male from Aberdeen, Washington, who was the sole occupant, was not wearing his seatbelt, and succumbed to his injuries on scene.
The Chrysler was driven by a 20-year-old female from Spokane Valley Washington. Also in the Chrysler was a 22-year-old female from Spokane Valley, Washington, an 18-year-old female from Spokane Valley, Washington, and a 17-year-old male from Moscow, Idaho. All occupants of the Chrysler were wearing their seatbelts and were transported to a local hospital by ground ambulance.
Traffic on State Highway 58 was blocked in both directions for approximately 3.5 hours to allow emergency responders to assist those involved.
Next of kin has been notified for the deceased.
This crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
