Caldwell Man Succumbs to Injuries Following Motorcycle Collision on I-84

MERIDIAN – Idaho State Police are investigating a single-vehicle fatality collision that occurred at 8:39 p.m., on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at the westbound I-84 milepost 13 off-ramp, the US-30 New Plymouth exit, in Payette County.

According to the media release from Idaho State Patrol, a 60-year-old man from Caldwell was driving a 1988 Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on I-84. The motorcyclist was riding at a high rate of speed when he attempted to exit at milepost 13 via the off-ramp. He lost control and drove off the left shoulder where the motorcycle came to rest. The male succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The rider was not wearing a helmet.

The westbound I-84 off-ramp at milepost 13 was blocked for approximately two and a half hours.

The incident remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
