Corbitt Named Idaho’s Economic Development Professional of the Year

(Lewiston, ID) –The Idaho Economic Development Association named Port of Lewiston General Manager Scott Corbitt as the Idaho Economic Development Professional of the Year at its annual meeting last week in Boise. Corbitt, who joined the Port in 2022, was nominated by Dodd Snodgrass, Executive Director of the Clearwater Economic Development Association.

“Scott represents what it means to be a dedicated economic development professional,” said Snodgrass. “The Port of Lewiston serves an important economic development role in the region and the state, and Scott is a true advocate for our community.”

In his nomination, Snodgrass highlighted Corbitt’s leadership efforts, including involvement in regional workforce development, implementing regional broadband improvements, creating the “Leadership LC Valley” mentoring program through the Lewis-Clark Valley Chamber of Commerce, assisting in the attraction and retention of businesses in the area, and serving as an advocate for industry and the citizens of the community.

Corbitt stated he was surprised and honored by the award and welcomed the spotlight it cast on the LC Valley and all the region has to offer. He added that it serves as a testament to the Port’s vital role in the economic vitality of the region, and the group effort that makes it all possible.

“This award requires a team of people to make an impact, and I am just grateful to be a part of that team as we try to make our community better,” Corbitt said. “Working with like minds who are committed to improving the quality of life in Lewiston and the LC Valley keeps me motivated for the future.”
