KENDRICK – A new fire was reported at 4:30 p.m. on August 18, 2023, approximately 4 miles northeast of Kendrick. The 30-acre fire was quickly suppressed by responding air and ground firefighting resources.
Resources that responded included a 20-person Type 2 hand crew, 5 fire engines, a Type 2 helicopter, helitack firefighters, and rural fire departments. An additional 3 fire engines have been requested for today to secure the fire perimeter. Current containment is estimated at 20% with full containment expected by the end of the day tomorrow.
The cause of the fire has not been released.
