Defense Dominates for LC State Men at Multnomah

Alisha Alexander | Assistant Athletic Director-Sports Information

PORTLAND, Ore. – A powerful performance from the Warrior defense helped LC State to a commanding 82-50 victory over Multnomah on Sunday afternoon. The Warriors ended the first half ahead 45-14 after a 22-0 opening run.

The defense outrebounded the Lions 50-33 and held the home team to just 28.6% shooting from the floor.

“Another good road win for our guys,” Head Coach Austin Johnson said. “They really defended at the start of both halves. I thought Alton (Hamilton) and AP (Peoples Jr.) had great bounce back games for us which set the tone. Sam (Stockton) had another complete game. We have a short week with playing today and being on road again Thursday. We’ll need to recover and prep for another tough road trip.”

The wins moves LC State to 13-5 overall and 11-1 in CCC play.
