Driver Exposed to Winter Weather Overnight After Canyon Crash Rescued

Kamiah, ID – Kamiah Fire-Rescue was dispatched at 9:11 a.m. to the reports of a vehicle in the canyon off of highway 64, approximately 1 mile from the top of the grade.

Command 30, as well as Medic 21, Squad 21 and Rescue 27 all went en route and were assisted by Lewis County Sheriff’s Deputies, Idaho County Sheriff’s Deputies as well as multiple bystanders.

On arrival, a vehicle was located approximately 350 feet down the canyon from the roadway. The occupant had been in the vehicle since about 10:00 pm last night and had been exposed to the elements all night. The occupant was found in stable condition, was treated on scene and transported to a local area hospital for further evaluation.

All emergency personnel cleared the incident at approximately noon today.
