First annual Warrior Wheels event is April 27

LEWISTON, Idaho – The Lewis-Clark State College Auto Mechanics Club, with support from the college’s Technical & Industrial Division and a number of local sponsors, will host its first annual Warrior Wheels on Saturday, April 27, at the Schweitzer Career & Technical Education Center located at 2947 Cecil Andrus Way in Lewiston.

 

The event will feature a full day of activities and demonstrations geared toward car enthusiasts, including prospective students who might be interested in automotive-related programs at LC State. In addition to a large car show, there will be dyno runs, a fun run, a silent auction, and a carburetor rebuild demonstration by Riley Schlick of Riley’s Rebuilds, an all-female production team with a growing following on social media.

Activities are free and open to the public, however, there is a $5 fee to participate in the car show, a $5 fee to have a booth at the event, and a $100 fee to utilize the Dyno Lab. Participants can register for the event online. All proceeds from Warrior Wheels go to the Auto Mechanics Club, a recognized student club at LC State.

Warrior Wheels Schedule of Events

  • 8 a.m. – Cars & Coffee: Guests are welcome to show off their cars and enjoy a cup of coffee with other community members.
  • 9-11 a.m. – Fun Run: Participants are invited to cruise through the valley and receive raffle tickets at each checkpoint.
  • 9 a.m.-4 p.m. – Dyno Day: For $100, participants will have the opportunity to run their builds three times in the Dyno Lab.
  • 11 a.m.-4 p.m. – Swap Meet: Buy and sell tools, gadgets and parts, new or used. The cost is $5 for a booth.
  • 11 a.m.-4 p.m. – Silent Auction: Bid on baskets provided by individuals and surrounding businesses.
  • 1-3 p.m. – Car Show: Show off your car for a chance to win awards. $5 entry fee.
  • 3 p.m. – Riley’s Rebuilds Demo: Watch a live carburetor rebuild demonstration by Riley’s Rebuilds.
  • 4 p.m. – Prizes: Awards will be given out for the Car Show and Fun Run.

Sponsors include Rogers Motors, Napa Auto Parts, Joe Hall Ford, Lewiston Motor Company, Mick McClure Honda, Nissan of Lewiston, Costa’s Auto Repair, ACDelco, Auto Zone, Perfection Tire, AutoBody Super Center, Motion Auto Supply, Bob Jackson Auto Repair, Rotten Leonard’s Jalopy Shop, and Justice Brothers.

Automotive-related programs at LC State include Auto Mechanics Technology, Collision Repair Technology, and Diesel Technology. A full list of LC State’s programs is available at www.lcsc.edu/degrees.
