(Shelley, ID) Idaho State Police is investigating a three-vehicle crash that blocked both directions of travel on US91 at milepost 120.5, Northeast of Shelley.
A 2018 Ford Explorer driven by a 44-year-old woman from Shelley was traveling northbound on US91 when it left its lane and veered into oncoming traffic. A 2000 Pontiac Grand Am, driven by a 17-year-old female from Idaho Falls, was travelling southbound on US91 when it struck the Explorer head-on. The Grand Am came to rest on the North shoulder, while the Explorer spun around and came to rest facing South in the southbound lanes. A 2013 GMC Sierra, driven by a 51-year-old male from Idaho Falls, then struck the rear of the Explorer.
All occupants in the vehicles involved were wearing seatbelts.
The drivers of the Explorer and the Grand Am were transported via ground ambulance to a nearby hospital.
Both directions of travel were blocked for approximately two hours.

The crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
