Kootenai County Sheriff’s Deputy Arrest Burglary Suspect in Residence

The following information is preliminary and subject to change as the incident is currently under investigation. Events in this press release may change as the investigation progresses.

Kootenai County, Idaho – On October 3, 2023, at approximately 9:30PM, the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office received a call for service for a burglary in progress. A homeowner received an alarm inside their residence and could see an unknown male on surveillance video inside their home. Prior to law enforcement’s arrival the unknown suspect was seen leaving the residence and walking towards additional residences.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 3500 block of Hayden Lake Road and located an additional unsecured residence. Deputies set up a perimeter around the residence and made several announcements for the suspect to exit. After an extended amount of time, a male suspect exited the residence without further incident.

The suspect was quickly identified as Luke A. Concienne, a 35-year-old male out of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. Concienne was booked into the Kootenai County Jail for unlawful entry, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Concienne has an extensive criminal history within Kootenai County.

The Sheriff’s Office would like to recommend citizens to take proactive measures when leaving their residences for an extended amount of time. Including, advising neighbors of their plans, installing surveillance cameras, conducting regular inspections of their property, removing excess mail and utilizing light timers to prevent being victims of residential burglary.
