Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office K9 Assists in Fugitive’s Apprehension

On 10/1/2023 at approximately 1500 hours, the Post Falls Police Department requested the assistance of a Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office K9 to assist with the capture of a fugitive, Cory Moore. Moore had an active felony warrant out of Spokane, Washington for assault. PFPD officers were able to locate Moore inside a home on Elias Court, in the City of Post Falls. Moore barricaded himself in a room, then fled into a crawl space. KCSO K9 Luuki, was able to enter the crawl space and locate Moore. A struggle ensued between Moore and K9 Luuki, resulting in minor injuries to both K9 Luuki and Moore. Moore was then taken into custody by PFPD and booked on his warrant as well as other charges related his apprehension.

 

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office is very proud of K9 Luuki and his service to the citizens of Kootenai County.
