CORVALLIS, Ore. – After a pair of upset victories to send the Warriors back to Kansas City, the LC State Men’s Basketball team has been named the Cascade Conference Team of the Week for the second time this season.
The Warriors, an 11-seed, earned their spot in the NAIA Round of 16 and advanced to the final site for the first time since LC State’s run to the national title game in 2021. Big wins over sixth-seeded Hope International (Calif.) and third-seeded and No. 8 overall Montana Tech punched the ticket for the Warriors. LC State lost to both teams in the regular season and avenged the losses when the contests counted the most.
LC defeated HIU 93-77 in the first round before taking down Montana Tech on its home court by a final of 85-77. The Warriors shot 50% or better in both games and were the top rebounding team in each contest.
