LC State Track Welcomes German Runner Piper Parsells in 2024

LEWISTON, ID – The Warrior Track and Field family will add a new face with familial ties to the program next spring. Piper Parsells, sister of cross country and track and field athlete Griffen Parsells, will join LC State next season.

“We are excited to have Piper with us,” Head Coach Mike Collins said. “We believe she can become an important piece of our middle-distance crew. I think she is capable of being a very good cross country runner, but we are going to keep things focused on track to start with and see how it goes from there. She already has some insight into our program with her older brother on the team, so adjusting to our routines and team life should be a little simpler.”

Parsells, a runner from Germany, specializes in the 400m, 800m, mile and relays. The high school senior has personal-best times of 2:21 in the 800 and holds the school record in the 1600m (5:21) and 3200m (12:29). Parsells won the DoDEA European 800m as a sophomore and junior and also captured the 1600m title as a junior. She helped her team to a third-place finish as a team in both track and field and cross country in 2022, and was voted both the track and field and cross country MVP.
