Lewiston Civic Theatre presents Clue, Oct. 6 – Oct. 22, 2023

September 18, 2023 – The Lewiston Civic Theatre is thrilled to bring the classic board game and motion picture to life with its latest production, Clue, written by Sandy Raskin with additional material by Hunter Foster and Eric Price. Opening on October 6th and running through October 22nd with performances Fridays and Saturdays at 7pm and Sunday matinees at 2pm.

It is a dark and stormy night when six strangers arrive at a mysterious mansion for dinner. Or so they think. When their mysterious host winds up dead, everyone is a suspect in this hilarious comedy. We all love Clue, says Amanda Marzo, Director. It brings up a nostalgia that is specifically tied to a certain board game where we all get to become our own Sherlock Holmes or Miss Marples and investigate a murder. Every game the “who done it?”, “which room did they do it? “and “with what?”, changes with a shuffle of the cards. The end revealing another player or possibly even yourself as the murderer.

This play is a love letter to both the Hasbro board game and the 1985 Paramount Pictures film. While this show is similar to the film, the play amps up the camp with all the kooky characters we know and love and has a live pianist to add some mysterious music as the story unfolds. This play updated and added many new jokes that the audience has never heard before. Combine all of that with a local star-studded cast of wickedly talented comedians, and a set that looks like the board game came to life, you may just have a hit! You do not want to miss it! It’s going to be a good time, and just like the board game, you can bring your whole family along for this one!

Clue will perform at the Normal Hill Campus (the old Lewiston High School Auditorium), with performances Fridays – Saturdays at 7pm and Sundays at 2pm. For more information or to purchase tickets, please visit lctheatre.org.

All programming at Lewiston Civic Theatre is made possible through the support of the City of Lewiston.

Founded in 1964, the Lewiston Civic Theatre shows played in the Porthouse in downtown Lewiston. The Porthouse no longer stands, due to constant water damage from the tides of the Snake River, which were known to flood – but not cancel a show. As LCT survived those tides, so has it survived the search for a new home. While the performance spaces moved throughout the years, time and time again, always resilient, the Lewiston Civic Theatre has proven that theater is the people that create it, not the building that houses it.

Currently, season productions are performed at the former Lewiston High School Auditorium (1114 9th Ave, Lewiston, ID 83501), also known as the Normal Hill Campus in special arrangement with the Lewiston Independent School District. The Lewiston Civic Theatre is committed to be a creative home for actors, directors, and designers to collaborate and enrich the cultural life of the LC Valley and surrounding areas. We are an inclusive organization that welcomes and encourages participation and volunteers from all of our community at large.

Lewiston Civic Theatre is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization that offers theatrical productions and theater education opportunities year round.
