Lewiston Fire Fighters Make Quick Work of House Fire on Mayfair Court

LEWISTON – The Lewiston Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at 702 Mayfair Court at 8:06 this morning. The caller reported smoke coming from the roof and garage areas.

Fire crews arrived within four minutes of being dispatched to find the residence at 720 Mayfair Court with heavy smoke coming from the attic and garage. Crews accessed the garage and were able to knock down the fire quickly.

The main residence was searched for possible victims with none found and then checked for any fire extension into the living area. Crews remained on scene for approximately 90 minutes to overhaul and assist with the fire cause investigation.

The department responded with three structural engines, three ambulances, one fire investigator, and four chief officers for a total of 20 personnel.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The damage estimate to the residence and contents is $80,000.

There were no citizen or firefighter injuries to report.
